Surprise medical bills occur when people are charged for care from out-of-network providers or facilities that they receive due to no fault of their own. These bills, which can amount to hundreds, thousands, or even tens-of-thousands of dollars, are unpredictable for families and occur despite every effort consumers make to avoid them.
On November 7, join Missouri Health Care for All and speakers from across the country to learn more about what surprise medical bills are, why they exist, and how we can work to eliminate them for Missourians. Together, advocates, stakeholders, and policymakers will lay the groundwork for a movement to eliminate uncertainty in Missourians’ health care costs.
